Forty years ago, our founder, Mr. Sandal Tseng, embarked on the path of a "nose" because of a bright idea. At that time, when resources were scarce, it was difficult to obtain a book or professional course on perfumery. However, he enriched his knowledge through self-study and even flew abroad to look for raw materials for perfumery, and he still sticks to this pattern until today.
From 1985 to the present, we have been lucky enough to see the rise and prosperity of Taiwan's aroma field, but the scarcity of resources for perfumery remains unchanged, although there are beginning to be tutors and university departments to offer courses on perfumery, but the raw materials used for perfumery are still difficult to obtain in Taiwan.
The lack of raw materials and the opportunities for practice have created a challenges for Taiwan's local fragrance brands, not to mention the fact that they have to compete with well-known foreign brands.
As a result, in recent years, an increasing number of up-and-coming perfumers have reached out to us. We are more than happy to support them, provide high-quality ingredients so that them can focus on the creative work. This is the very reason we founded Per & Pro—for Taiwanese fragrance industry grow and thrive!
